be married. Ceremony shoot at The Spot on West Fifth

Weddings might not be happening as they normally would be with covid, but photoshoots thankfully are. I worked with the fabulous gals at be married. to create this fun ceremony backdrop at The Spot on West Fifth. be married. executes intimate pop up weddings and we collaborated together on this shoot to help couples envision how a thoughtful and curated wedding can look at a smaller scale.

For this shoot, in particular, I really wanted to design something fun against The Spot’s fantastic brick backdrop. I love that the brick provides a fun mix of an industrial with some warm touches from the wood in the space. I kept the color palette bold, yet balanced with the reds and yellow contrasted against several different varieties of foliage and grasses.

Flower wise, we designed a fun meadow backdrop that could envelop a sweet couple on their wedding day. I wanted to use as many local and seasonal blooms as possible to correctly mimic the meadow and field feel. So many great flowers came from Sunny Meadows Flower Farm and Grace Rose Farm. The grasses provided my favorite soft textural pieces and the fun pops of yellow peonies and wild eremurus gave the meadow a little twist.

I promise I tried to narrow down the photos for this blog post, but Whitney at Native Iris just delivered so many goodies that there is a pretty out-of-control number below.
