6 Reasons Why I Love the Rising Tide Society

If you asked me one of the greatest discoveries I've come across after starting my business, I wouldn't hesitate to say the Rising Tide Society. Rising Tide is a national group of creatives that encourages business support, feedback, and above all, valuing community. Throughout the country (and world!) there are hundreds of local Rising Tide chapters that meet monthly to provide education and networking in their city. In Cincinnati, we've been blessed with an incredible chapter. I feel super spoiled to have met such incredible and supportive folks in the area. Here are six reasons why I love my Cincinnati Rising Tide chapter.

Group support and encouragement

Having a rough day? Need a little bit of extra support? Our local chapter is a great source of encouragement and constructive criticism.

Tuesdays Together

I think it's important to routinely get out of my normal flow to refresh and see things from a different perspective. Whether it's working from a new location (like my favorite coffee shop down the street, shoutout to Coffee Emporium!) or having a group brainstorming session, I always leave with new ideas and added energy. Our monthly Together Tuesdays are no exception. I really enjoy our group meetups because it can help me learn more about a topic, understand something from a different perspective, or really just have a good time with friends.

Built in referral network

Need a baker? Looking for a local calligrapher? You're covered. Rising Tide encompasses a wide range of creative industries setting you up for just the right contact for a new project.

Collaborative projects

One of the most exciting events our local chapter organized was a group Styled Shoot. Our Cincy chapter put together a double-themed shoot at a local venue to showcase everyone's talent and unique style. I absolutely loved participating in the shoot because it gave me the opportunity to show off my florals, work closely with others in the group, and really just spend the day with a fun group of people!

Friendships

It's great to people locals for networking, but it's even better when those contacts turn into friendships.

Community over competition

It sounds too good to be true but it's not. I'm so grateful to have found a group that really does put community over competition. It's so nice to talk with others in the floral industry (and other creative fields) candidly about marketing, pricing, and general business struggles. I personally love the idea that a rising tide lifts all boats.

Are you a creative looking for your tribe? I can't encourage you enough to check out Rising Tide Society and see if there's a local chapter in your area.
