Toffee and dried florals for The Monastery Event Center
2021 has been the year of reschedulings. I’m so happy and grateful for all of the wonderful couples that were finally able to get married and celebrate this year. It’s been busy, but joyful. Bridget and Cole were able to be wed and party in September.
Along with a new wedding date, the floral vision also changed. Originally a heavy greenery design, we changed the florals to a more textured and dried look. The only fresh floral element came from the gorgeous and uniquely colored toffee rose. We paired the toffee roses with pampas grass, dried ferns, bleached ruscus, and other dried grasses and laces. I loved the lightness the dried elements brought - both literally (it was the lightest bridal bouquet I’ve ever made) and figuratively in the look.
We paired the dried and preserved elements with modern glass and ceramic vessels for a simple and clean look.
This wedding was a vendor dream team for me. Alex Davis Photography captured the emotions of the day so perfectly and I’m always happy when I get to work in The Monastery.
