Romantic Quicksand Rose Bouquet - Bouquet Breakdown

Another week, another edition of bouquet breakdown!

Today I'm featuring one of my favorite bridal bouquets, Maria's! I loved (and still love) this romantic and soft bouquet from last May's wedding. I was especially honored when Maria chose to have her bouquet framed after the big day.

The focal flower in Maria's bouquet is one of my favorite roses, the quicksand rose. Quicksand is such a beautiful and interesting rose. The petals open up so wide that its size can compete with larger garden roses. Quicksand roses come in the most delicious neutral color. Within a bunch of quicksand roses, some of the stems can pull more cream while others can be more blush heavy. This non-uniformity can help the rose work across all sorts of different color palettes. I'm often recommending this rose to brides because it's so versatile.

For supporting blooms, we pulled in a lot of white and green tones from the long-stemmed delphinium, ruffly ranunculus, fluffy Queen Anne's lace, and pops of lisianthus. The thistle was a fun accent to pull in some darker tones with the blue.

The bouquet was finished off with small touches of greenery that complemented the bridesmaid bouquets. We used silver dollar eucalyptus, Italian ruscus, and olive branch.

I loved this sweet bouquet because to me it feels timeless, but with a bit of added whimsy from the interesting ingredients.
